Migration to SharePoint Online With Robust Data Protection

United Way Greater Toronto (UWGT) is the largest nongovernmental supporter of social services in the GTA. They create opportunities for people to improve their lives and build a better future by forming powerful partnerships and capitalizing on prospects. They coordinate and mobilize their volunteer and financial resources for the most direct impact. The result is effective, lasting and positive change in the communities they serve.

Customer Challenge

United Way Greater Toronto (UWGT) was still using SharePoint 2003 to access shared workspaces, information stores and document libraries. The system was antiquated, had poor security features, was no longer able to meet increased demands and it was difficult to maintain. Also, the platform was not delivering the operational experience the end-user had come to expect from the brand. UWGT needed to modernize its business collaboration and document management platform.

Solution

Migrating to SharePoint On-Line with cloud data protection

CrucialLogics, in collaboration with the UWGT IT created a sharepoint document management and collaboration strategy aligning with the various business units and change management plan. CrucialLogics then designed and implemented the solution in SharePoint online. CrucialLogics also supplied hands-on training for two UWGT superusers to carry the program goals forward. Additionally, they donated time in goodwill to governance, advisory input and feedback on change management programs and oversight on the project.

Results

UWGT’s data is secure and the user experience is improved

CrucialLogics’ experienced team, with their deep technical skillsets, worked with the management of UWGT to design a well-defined and well-planned solution. CrucialLogics implemented the Cloud Data Protection Workload for Office 365 in tandem with Hybrid Cloud Identity Workload. The final platform delivered on all the project goals, including:

  • Implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for 252 users
  • Single Sign-on (SSO) for all Microsoft apps
  • Self-service password reset
  • Azure Active Directory in the Cloud (AADC
  • Complete cloud data protection
  • The project was a great success. It ensured that all UWGT’s data was secure and that their end-users were satisfied with the updated platform.
